What is the USDA Child Care Food Program?

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child Care Food Program is part of the National School Lunch Act which benefits all preschool and school-age children. Participation in this program is optional for us as well as for parents.

The program provides:

  • reimbursement for nutritional meals served
  • training in good nutrition, child care, and child development
  • FYI quarterly newsletters with recipes, nutrition information, and training calendar

As you may know, eating healthy can be expensive. This is a great program which allows childcare providers who participate to serve nutritious meals and snacks daily with less concern about the cost.
